A town too new to have flooded in living memory — almost
Eastover's own municipal history is short: Scots-Irish settlers once called the area Mary's Garden, an oral-history nickname for its poor soil, and Eastover Township was organized in 1869, but the town itself wasn't incorporated until July 26, 2007, making it Cumberland County's newest municipality with 3,656 residents at the 2020 census.
